I will use my extensive accumulated commercial experience to work with you to build your capability to grow and develop your business either as an Owner or a Manager, by the establishment of a Business Development Plan specific to your business which you can then implement, and review and modify going forward as required

At the end of the engagement you will have a set of measures, specific to your business for you to apply to your business in managing the growth and development of your business

I work “one on one” to with you to show you how to develop and implement a Business Development Plan to enhance the profitability of your business.

Together we will perform a SWOT analysis, and I will show you how to determine realistic expectations for the performance of the business, and its possible future potential.

We will establish realistic financial and strategic growth targets for the business to aspire to, that stretch current performance, and we will set quarterly, single and multi-year targets against which you will then able to measure the performance of your business

The programme consists of an initial information sharing meeting of two to four hours duration, followed by ongoing progress meetings, normally of two hours duration, and at two, three or four weekly intervals, depending on the clients requirements, with actions to be carried out between meetings agreed and documented

We will agree any specific projects that need to be addressed in conjunction with the overall Business Development Plan

The agreed timeline for the engagement will depend on the nature, size and complexity of the business, and the stage of the businesses development, and business specific current issues.Typically engagements are for between 3 and 6 months.

Charges can be an agreed lump sum for my involvement in the work as a project, progressed to agreed milestones, or work can be performed against monthly agreed schedules, at charge out rates which are:

• $285.00 per hour for less than full days worked on the project, or
• $1,850.00 per day for a full day worked on the project.

c) Develop and implement additional, or replacement, strategies.

These outcomes will enhance the sustainability and the profitability of your business, and strengthen the capability of your business to have sustainable growth, and in doing so, grow the value of your business.

Our review will cover aspects of your current business such as:

• Profit by sector, service or product
• Branding
• Sustainability
• Business Culture
• Marketing Planning
• Market Research
• Target Marketing/Segmentation
• Sales Strategies
• Effectiveness of Sales and Lead Generation activities
• Pricing and Promotion
• Customer Profiles – Ideal, Current, Emerging
• Client Management
• Pricing/Competitive Advantage
• Customer expectations, and rights
• Operational Strategies
• Procurement preferences
• E-commerce.

The review will highlight areas, normally up to five, where current strategies are not delivering maximum value to the profitability and sustainable growth of the business.


We will work with you to develop additional or replacement strategies, and then agree with you a programme for the implemention of those strategies, meeting with you as required going forward, to ensure those strategies are effectively implemented, measuring success going forward.

3. Project meetings with Sales and Marketing personnel as determined by the Owner or Manager, to carry out the review.

5. Meet with Owner or Manager to present the review, agree the action plans going forward and the implementation programe.
6. The Owner or Manager then implements the agreed programme.
7. Project implementation meetings with Owner or Manager, normally of two hours duration, and at two, three, or four weekly intervals, depending on the nature of the project, with agreed actions by client and us between meetings.
8. Meetings can also be held with key personnel to assist them in implementing the agreed changes, if required.

This programme, workshop and the follow-up coaching shares the burden of the development and implementation of additional, or replacement strategies, with the SMT, and gets wider commitment to the agreed outcomes by team involvement.

Stage One – Working with the Owner or Manager

1. An information sharing meeting with the Owner or Manager to understand their views on the KEY ASPECTS of the business, as listed above, and other KEY ASPECTS important to the Owner or Manager.
2. Clarify the focus of the review and agree the format and procedures for the review.

Stage Two – Working with the S M T

3. Individual meetings with each S M T member gaining their insights as to matters relevant to the review of the agreed KEY ASPECTS in the business.
4. Confidential written feedback to us on the company “as they see it” in respect of the agreed KEY ASPECTS in the business.

Stage Three – KEY ASPECTS Workshop

5. Hold a workshop where we put up the results of all feedback for discussion and possible actions.

Stage Four- Finalise the Action Plan

6. Meet with Owner or Manager and plan the finalisation and implementation of the required Action Plan.
7. Allocate the responsibilities for specific actions to the Owner or Manager, and the individual S M T members.


Stage Five – Implementation

8. Meet monthly with Owner and/or Manager to review progress.
9. Meet monthly with the S M T members to review their individual progress
10. Record from each meeting, actions required, timeframes and resource allocations, to ensure project stays focused.
11. Report back to all involved in the programme.
12. Monitor the implementation of the plan, corrective actions and milestone achievements.

7. Coaching meetings with the S M T, and Sales and Marketing personnel, as required, to ensure successful implementation of the agreed strategies.

c) Review the financial reporting systems in the operation.
d) Review the costing and pricing of current products and/or services.
e) Review the budgets, forecasts and cash flow plans.
f) Review the credit and debt management procedures.
g) Review the roles of key personnnel in the business processes.
h) Other matters the Owner or Manager wishes to have as a focus in the review.

These activities will enable us to report back to the Owner or Manager on the effectiveness of all the current operational controls and procedures in the business, and opportunities for improved profitability, or organisational effectiveness, with recommendations for the implementation of changes that will generally enhance the capability of the organisation.
