MEASUREMENT AND VISUAL MANAGEMENT

Early problem identification is one of the biggest issues facing organisations as too often a problem is not noticed until too late.

If we were able to see a problem coming well before it becomes a catastrophe, appropriate actions can be taken to minimise or even avoid it. If we visually understand our process performance we have greater chance of averting these catastrophes and improve.

Ultimately prevention is the best outcome but first we have to see and understand our problems.

Topics to be covered are:
• What are visual controls.
• Understand visual controls as a method to identify problems.
• The importance of measurement to understand real-time performance.
• Visualising problems through measurement.

KEEPING EMPLOYEE RELATIONS POSITIVE

The result of a manager’s, leader’s or supervisor’s work depends on the output of other people. Executing the production plan, improving quality, solving problems, making changes; all these and more are achieved more readily when there is a strong, positive relationship between managers and their employees.

Job Relations (JR) teaches managers how to develop and maintain a relationship that will engender trust and cooperation from their work groups, prevent many problems from arising, and minimise the impact of those that do arise.

This workshop will teach a proven routine for handling problems when they do arise, showing managers how to get the facts, weigh options, make decisions, take action and check results, with a focus on the outcome being to help service or production.

COURSE OUTCOMES

After five sessions you will have learned and practised these skills and can go back to your workplace and immediately start practising the skill of JR, and thus to assess the results of your actions.
After the sixth session, you could have a plan in place detailing where to start and the objectives that will be of benefit to your organisation.

6 X 2 hour sessions over two days, plus one x one hour follow up session in your workplace.
