All businesses have a S M T, and the number can range from one to many.
This programme, workshop and the follow-up coaching shares the burden of Business Planning, and gets wider commitment to the agreed outcomes by team involvement.
Stage One – Working with the Owner or Manager:
1. Clarify the shareholders’ vision for the business, and expectations from the business.
2. Clarify the purpose of the business, and its commercial mission.
3. Understand the current profit and value drivers in the business.
4. Perform a SWOT analysis, and determine realistic expectations for the performance of the business and its possible future potential.
Stage Two – Working with the S M T
5. Individual meetings with each S M T member gaining their insights as to matters relevant to the SWOT analysis.
6. Confidential written feedback to us on the company “as they see it” in a SWOT format.
Stage Three – SWOT Workshop
7. Hold a workshop where we put up the results of all feedback for discussion and then agree a combined input SWOT analysis.
Stage Four- Finalise the Business Plan
8. Meet with Owner or Manager and plan the implementation of the rest of the Business Planning Process.
9. Determine the relative competitive position of the business and determine how the competitive advantage can be used to capture identified future opportunities to add value.
10. Establish realistic financial and strategic growth targets for the business to aspire to, that stretch current performance.
11. Finalise the Business Plan and overall business targets.
12. Distill these targets into Operational Plans for business, or for the various sectors, or activity centres, of the business in conjunction with the S M T members.
13. Develop and record action plans for the overall business and for its various sectors, to ensure agreed targets are reached, and allocate the responsibilities for specific actions to the Owner, or Manager, and the individual S M T members.
Stage Five – Implementation
14. Meet monthly with Owner and/or Manager to review progress
15. Meet monthly with the S M T members to review their individual progress.
16. Record from each meeting the actions required, timeframes and resource allocations, to ensure project stays focused.
17. Report back to all involved in the programme.
18. Monitor the implementation of the plan, corrective actions and milestone achievements.
1. An initial information sharing meeting with the Owner or Manager of between two and four hours duration.
2. Documentation, by us, of the of scope of project, agreed objectives and milestones, normally three or four hours of work.
3. SWOT meeting with Owner or Manager, up to four hours.
4. SWOT meetings with S M T members, depends on number of SMT members, meetings of one to two hours each.
5. Workshop for Owner or Manager, and S M T members, half day to one day depending on size of business, and the number of S M T members, plus preparation for workshop.
6. Finalise and publish agreed actions and implementation plan.
7. Monthly project meetings, with Owner or Manager and/or S M T members, normally of one to two hours duration each,
8. Documenting agreed actions to be taken by clients and us between meetings, and follow up between meetings.
1. An agreed lump sum for the project progressed to agreed milestones, or
2. Work is performed at charge out rates which are:
• $285.00 per hour for less than full days worked on the project, or
• $1,850.00 per day for a full day worked on the project.
• Prices are exclusive of GST, payable within seven days of the monthly invoice.
